Open Edition Print

The original artwork is a vintage silkscreen print.

Artist Statement

These Animal Prints were silkscreened over two years, 1968-1970 . Fresh out of Montréal Museum Ecole des Beaux Arts, I hand-printed them in my parents' attic. The bilingual animals were very popular, and sold through various outlets in Montréal. They could be seen on many a nursery wall, including my own Emma and Graham's. But as the next generation began, I realized I had barely enough prints for my own grandchildren. Fortunately, a friend had carefully archived her complete set of beloved Animal Prints, and she allowed me to use hers to begin a new edition.

Besides silkscreen printing, my interest in art grew into a successful career as a landscape painter. I have been very fortunate to do what I love, and my paintings of peaceful rural spaces are exhibited and in collections throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.

Our Frames

When you order your fine art print framed from edna's room, you are ordering custom framing. Our expert framing partners are professional contemporary art framers. They keep to museum quality and have the highest attention to detail when working with your fine art print.

edna’s room sources our wooden frames from an FSC certified company that is active in a global ecosystem reforestation project. The matting is an acid-free, lignen-free four ply mat. It is also alkaline pH buffered, as well as bleed and fade resistant, which means it will not damage the art or discolor. Our matting is neutral white in color.

Our frames are fitted with flawless premium clear acrylic that is shatterproof for shipping purposes. We only use Artcare foamboard for the backer board, which is both an acid-free archival surface and the foam inside absorbs and neutralizes any off-gasses from the foam. This backing does not damage or fade the artwork.
