Prashant Miranda, grew up in Bangalore, India, studied at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and moved to Canada soon after. He designed children's animated shows for TV in Toronto, before moving on to pursue his passions as an artist. He spends his summers in Canada, and winters in India, where he travels and documents his life through his watercolour journals, animates films, illustrates children's books and paints murals.

As an artist, animator and scribe, Prashant Miranda's work is influenced by his life in Canada and India. Themes of nature and travel are reflected in his work and reoccur in his children's books and animation films. This series of watercolours are inspired by his encounters with tigers in the wild, while being part of a National Geographic documentary in central India, and also from his camping trips and journeys in Canada where he's met up with bears, deer and cottontail rabbits. The rich tropical jungles of India, and the wild Canadian wilderness are what Prashant now considers 'home', and constantly provide inspiration for his paintings.
